TRAINING SERVICES

As the leading Groundscare Machinery Hire/Supply Company, we understand the importance of operator training, not only to ensure the safe and correct use of your equipment, but to also give your operational staff the correct skills to carry out their tasks.

We are able to provide Lanta Integrated training and Assessments for most types of grounds maintenance and arboriculture machinery (listed below is a full list of are training services available).

Benefits of the Certificate

A certificate of competence demonstrates that the successful candidate has experience, technical knowledge and ability, which have been independently and reliably assessed to the national standards. It also satisfies employers PUWER ’98 obligations that all operators should be adequately trained. Trained operators are more aware of personal and public safety issues. They also tend to be more efficient and have less downtime due to accidents, which in turn leads to lower repair costs.

These courses are designed to give operators the knowledge and understanding required to carry out:

• Health and Safety/Road Traffic/Environmental Regulations.
• Risk Assessments
• Principles of Operation
• Stability, Compatibility and fitting procedures
• Maintenance
• Operation of equipment
• Operational Tasks
• Practical Operations
• After use Checks

Who needs to be trained, and when?

Operator training and integrated assessment should be be undertaken by all who regularly use tractors and machinery for work purposes. All operators of all machines should take this training. These courses are not individual machine specific and cover all different machines of the same type.

Installation / Familiarisation training is non-assessed. It will identify to the operator the controls, pre start checks, starting & stopping procedures, adjustments and daily maintenance for individual machines. It is recommended that an operator training & assessment course be completed before the installation course. An operator should have familiarisation training on all tools and machines he has to use in the course of his duties.

NPTC "Certificate of Competence" Certification is an option for your experienced operators to gain the certification needed to comply with the Health and Safety regulations.

Registered Installer “train the trainer” course. Is designed to give the individual the ability to install machinery correctly and safely, meeting the requirements of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 ( PUWER 98) This is very important when carrying out induction programmes with new or existing employees.
